A mysterious stranger. Ichabod Crane’s arrival in Sleepy Hollow is both timely and seemingly perfect, professing to be an educated scholar en-route to New York. The villagers attempt to persuade him to accept the open position of school master and bookkeeper. Ichabod begrudgingly agrees, but only until they can find a more permanent solution.

Ichabod is amused by the villagers’ fixation on spirits and superstition. However, he is determined to educate them on scientific matters and convince them their philosophies are baseless.

Skillfully wearing a mask of aloofness and pretension, Ichabod is nevertheless burdened by a sadness he can not escape. Katrina Van Tassel, innately sensitive to creatures who are hurting, finds a unique friendship with Ichabod. She slowly works to unlock Ichabod’s secrets, revealing a man who has more to offer then she could ever imagine.
